Illustrator images are elegant and sophisticated. Illustrator files can be complex and unwieldy with additional image files embedded or placed and elements locked on hidden layers, which can make handing over a graphic to a colleague or client problematic.
Designer Aaron Draplin has put together a “hand-off checklist” for Adobe Illustrator files to help avoid issues when working together.
His language is somewhat informal and the list is long, but he makes a lot of good points e.g. unlocking all elements so it can be copied and pasted easily, and checking spelling.
